Set to inspiring music, this 60-minute strengthening class is highly effective and adaptable for all ages and fitness levels. BodyPump challenges all of the major muscle groups by using proven weight room exercises, including squats, presses, and curls. Give it a try—your first class is free or buy a discounted 10-class pass at the JCC front desk!

Be Heard: The Mechanics of Speech for Parkinson’s with Kaitie Ty Warren

THU, 12–1 PM

Cost: $80 per month (scholarships may be available)

Motor skills and organization are needed for clear speech, but progressive movement disorders like Parkinson’s Disease can drastically reduce one’s ability to be heard and understood. Using relaxation, exercise, games, muscle training, and music, we’ll develop real-world tools you can use outside the classroom to speak up and be heard. All are welcome.

Kaitie Ty Warren is an RYT-200 Certified Yoga Instructor, and has studied under John Argue and Carol Fisher, both heavyweights in the Parkinson’s therapy community.


Feldenkrais with Jan Hetherington

Intermediate: WED, 10:15–11:30 AM
Beginning: WED, 11:30 AM–12:30 PM
Cost: $35 per semester

Enjoy this gentle, slow-moving class where students lie on mats (provided) and learn to increase body awareness for easier, more comfortable movement. As participants progress through varied movement sequences they will discover the interconnectedness of body and brain
and move past old movement habits.

Jan Hetherington is a certified teacher who has taught the Feldenkrais Method for over 15 years.

Fun, Fitness and Dance with Naomi Puro

THU, 9–11 AM
Cost: $35 per semester

Now in its 34th season, this joyful class is designed for people over 50. Get a full-body workout featuring flexibility and stretching exercises, aerobic activity, strength training, and balance work.

Naomi Puro is a credentialed teacher with a master’s degree in dance movement therapy. 

Moving Qi with Kathleen Davis

TUE, 11:45 AM–1:45 PM / WED, 12:30–2 PM

Practice traditional methods of acupressure and movement for balancing energy and promoting physical and emotional vitality.

Kathleen Davis is a credentialed teacher who has taught acupressure and traditional Chinese movement since 1996.
