The JCC East Bay Preschool Program

The JCC’s award-winning Preschool is a play-based, nurturing place for early childhood education. Each day includes group activities, music, art, and team projects as well as individual, creative exploration. The Preschool, located in North Berkeley, is culturally Jewish, celebrating Jewish values, traditions, weekly Shabbat, and holidays throughout the year. We proudly welcome families and children from all backgrounds and from throughout the East Bay.

The JCC’s teachers are highly qualified ECE specialists with CPR/First Aide certification, experience, patience, creativity and great love for each child and family. The preschool also provides a strong connection to community, connecting parents to each other and to other cultural, social, and educational opportunities.

Program Schedule & Hours

The JCC Preschool is a year round (12 month) program that operates mid-August-July.

Our full day program is a 5 day Monday-Friday program and our hours are from 9/9:30AM-3:30/4:00PM, with staggering drop off and pick up times.This twelve month program has an annual tuition of $25,200 payable in 12 monthly installments of $2,100 starting in July.

Financial Aid

The JCC is happy to offer financial aid to families in need. Please find more information about how to apply for financial aid here: Financial Aid

Now Accepting Applications!

Parents are to complete an JCC East Bay Preschool Application for each child. Each application must be accompanied by a one-time application fee of $50.00 in order to have your child considered for enrollment. This fee is non-refundable. Checks should be made out to JCC of the East Bay. After you apply to the JCC East Bay Preschool your application will be reviewed and your child will be considered for admission. Parents are welcome to contact us at any time to find out the status of their application.


The last phase of the application process is notification and, if the student is accepted, issuance of an Enrollment Agreement. The Enrollment Agreement must be signed and returned within seven days including the preschool deposit of $1,300. Submitting the signed enrollment agreement and deposit secure the applicant’s place in the Preschool.

Priority for acceptance to the Preschool is based upon the following criteria when the completed application is submitted:

  • Siblings of currently enrolled children in the Preschool
  • Children of employees of the JCC East Bay Preschool
  • Families that are registered in the JCC Afterschool programs and alumni families
