Campers can sample a new interest or dig deeper into the activities they already love. Led by experts in their fields, each session offers a small-group setting and individual attention, making them ideal for novices and more experienced campers alike. Each session is segmented by grade/aged-based learning needs:

  • K–2 grade
  • 3–5 grade
  • Cost per session: $350 Members | $425 General

Join us for collaborative adventures, puzzle-solving, and intriguing quests in a world of magic, dragons, and elves. Roleplaying Adventure uses classic paper-and-dice roleplaying games like Dungeons and Dragons to give kids a chance to explore a strange and dangerous world. They go on an adventure together solving puzzles, fighting monsters, and completing quests.

Magic the Gathering
Magic the Gathering is a game of strategy and skill. Your child will be given the opportunity to delve into a mystical card game where they are powerful sorcerers summoning massive creatures and casting epic spells. Initially children will learn the basic rules of Magic the Gathering before delving into the more strategic aspects of the card game. The class is specifically designed for beginners, and reading skills are a must!

Wilderness Explorers
Are you an outdoor explorer, tree lover, or hiking fanatic? Do you prefer to be outside and enjoy getting dirty? Well this program is for you! Expect to learn how to identify local plants, build a shelter, hiking navigation, and outdoor survival 101!

Cooking Around the World

Can’t decide what cuisine is your favorite? Don’t have the time to travel to different countries to sample delicacies from around the world? Then this session is for you! Come learn how to prepare dishes from all over the world as we shop, prep, and prepare delish dishes to dine on!

Crafty Creations & Innovative Inventors
Time to design, experiment, and challenge yourself as we explore the world of creation, invention, making, and more. Activities include upcycling trashed treasures into new and improved works, scientific experiments, and everyone’s favorite, SLIME!

Kathryn Roszak's Summer Dance Camp for Children and Teens Camp (AM Camp)
Danse Lumiere has come to the JCC to express themselves through movement. All skill levels welcome and there will be a final performance on the Friday of each week in our JCC theater.

Ages 5-12 (Teen Mentor positions available)
Creative Movement, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Choreography, Crafts, and Performance. Teachers are professional choreographers with in-depth experience teaching kids. Camp is in its 11th year.

Please note this is a morning camp only. If you are interested in a full day of care, we have the incredible 'FUNdamentals of Percussion' offered in the afternoon, which will require separate registration via UltraCamp.

FUNdamentals of Percussion (PM Camp)
Superpower of the Song is coming to the JCC to provide high quality music instruction while cultivating creativity and inspiration to last a lifetime. 
What does happiness sound like? Rain? Cooperation? For this class we will focus on all things percussion, including body rhythms, bongo drums, tambourines, maracas and the piano! Your child will have fun exploring rhythm, teamwork, and other musical games during this session which will culminate in a  performance the last day of camp.
Music, movement, and creative expression percussion instruments for school aged kids (5-14). Have fun while learning how to play percussion notes and rhythms, fundamental techniques of percussion playing, basic percussion theory, improvisation, listening, performance and FUN! 
*Please note this is an afternoon camp only. If you are interested in the full day of care, there is a morning dance camp for all ages and levels, which will require separate registration via UltraCamp.



Safety, Supervision, and Authorized Pick-ups

For all camp programs at JCC, your child’s safety is always our number one concern. That’s why we have taken the time to continue improving our safety, supervision, and authorized pick up procedures.

We believe that summer camp is about having a counselor our campers can trust, and depend on to keep the fun happening. To ensure that our campers have an opportunity to bond with their counselors and to uphold the highest quality of safety in our supervision.

Berkeley Bus and Berkeley Drop-off and Pick-up: The bus leaves every morning from the JCC Berkeley Branch (1414 Walnut) at 8:45 AM. If you are not signed up for morning care please show up outside the JCC's main entrance in-between 8:40-8:45 AM. The bus will return to Berkeley each afternoon between 4:15-4:30 PM.
