Growing Your Personal Spiritual Practice with Rabbi Diane Elliott

This class is particularly geared for those interested in growing and enriching the God-field on a day-to-day basis, at times when you’re not in community. How can we cultivate the Hasidic ideal of living in devekut, constant connection with the Mystery, “putting God in front of us” (shiviti ha-Shem l’negdi tamid) continuously? We’ll share our stories and strategies, as we cultivate our personal spiritual gardens.

Tishe B ‘Av

Join the Aquarian Minyan to observe the ritual of Tishe B’Av, mourning the destruction of the Temple. We will chant, in English and Hebrew, from the Book of Lamentations. Led by Rabbi Diane Elliot, Reuven Goldfarb, Len Fellman, Sophie Miron and friends.

Shir HaShirim

The Song of Songs Minyan comes together for a Kabbalat Shabbat Service for egalitarian Jewish spiritual practice. Uniting the musical liturgy of Sephardic, Mizrachi & Ashkenazi traditions, the service focuses on the rich content of Jewish sacred music, poetry & prayer from around the world.

Shabbat Morning Services Aquarian Minyan

Monthly series of Shabbat morning services at the JCCEB. The Minyan is known for its profound, creative High Holy Days services which are co-created by Minyan members and friends. These Shabbat services will provide a year-round opportunity to experience and participate in a musical, celebratory worship experience presented in the spirit of “renewing the old and making holy the new.” Services will be followed by a vegetarian potluck lunch. Call Shoshana at 510-848-1343 to volunteer to help with service leadership, set up, or clean up.
