Holidays & Shabbat

Shir HaShirim

The Song of Songs Minyan comes together for a community Kabbalat Shabbat on the second Friday of every month for egalitarian Jewish spiritual practice. Uniting the musical liturgy of Sephardic, Mizrachi, and Ashkenazi traditions, the gathering focuses on the rich content of Jewish sacred music, poetry, and prayer from around the world. Services are led by Rabbi Michael Ziegler and Hazzan Richard Kaplan with musical accompaniment by John Erlich and Jano Bogg.

Fridays June 13, July 11, August 8, 7:30pm, FREE

Young Adult Community Shabbat

This isn’t your mom’s shabbat dinner! Leave the cooking to us, and bring your entourage to the JCC’s monthly Community Shabbat. This is a truly wonderful event, perfect for singles, couples and students. Be sure to invite your friends! Featuring a hearty vegetarian meal from Jerusalem Café, a performance by a live band and wine from Hagafen Cellers—a good time will surely be had by all.

Friday June 20, 7:30pm, FREE
RSVP required by June 17 at 3:00pm
(We need to know how much food to order by this day, and WILL NOT accept any late reservations or walkups.)

To register, contact Jennifer Preissel at 510.848.0237 or jenniferp@jcceastbay.org.
