Toddlers

My Toddler and Me Discovery Group

Play, learn and have fun in this creative, nurturing and interactive group for babies and toddlers ages 10-20 months of age and their parents. Immerse yourself in your child’s world through guided play activities, and discussions designed to help you understand your toddler’s emerging self and needs.

Facilitator: Jennifer Kantor, a gifted teacher who brings genuine warmth and extensive experience to her work with young children and their parents.

Discussion topics include:

* Building Circles of Communication
* Emotions and the Emerging Self

Preschool

The JCC Preschool (Berkeley site) is a program designed to develop the social, emotional, physical and intellectual well-being of each child. We value each child for their individuality, uniqueness, and developmental level.

The classrooms are designed to allow children to make choices, explore, and discover in a safe, nurturing learning environment. Each child’s self-concept and feeling of self-worth is enhanced by helping children to develop their own interests and skills. application form

Bridge K

The Bridge K Program provides an opportunity for your child to socialize with older children, familiarizing your child with what lies ahead in kindergarten. Our Bridge K'ers engage in activities that will help prepare them for Kindergarten - writing, math, and learning social skills as well as opening their minds to the world around them.

Center Stage in Berkeley

Afterschool Program - Berkeley Site

Our afterschool program at JCC is called Center Stage Berkeley. Center Stage Berkeley offers young children a variety of programs such as core afterschool activities, specialty classes, and afterschool Jewish holiday celebrations. We provide transportation and an enthusiastic professional staff.

Kids' Day with Hyim

Like the most of capable fusionistas, San Francisco singer-songwriter-piano man Hyim Ross juggles the sounds of the world's streets - Cuban tres guitar, New Orleans second line brass, hip-hop bounce - to achieve a style as unique as it is invigorating. Sign up for Hyim's Kids' Day (for 4-14 olds) at the JCC - an interactive musical workshop to warm the heart and expand the brain.
Put on in partership with the Stern Grove Festival Association.

Berkeley J Camp - Berkeley Site

JCC offers camps for children entering kindergarten through 5 grade. Outdoor activities, field trips, education, and fun creative explorations for our day campers. Our camp themes and specialty classes for 3 age groups, build community.

The JCC of the East Bay in Berkeley offers camps in Spring, Summer, and Winter. This year’s Berkeley J summer camp will be an exciting adventure for your child. Registration is still open.

Camp Tzofim - Oakland site

Oakland Camp Tzofim is also offered this summer for children entering kindergarten through grade 10. Each 2-week session is full of fun activities, such as trips, games, sports, swimming, arts and crafts, and much more. Computer Crime Awareness Online Child Exploitation with Officer Steve DeWarns

Get a glimpse into the “Dark side of the Internet” and see first hand how our children are being solicited for sex online. Learn about the growing crime trends on the Internet while we show you how to protect yourself and your children. This presentation is for parents of children who are active online. The first half hour of the PowerPoint presentation will take you through the various types of crimes committed online as well as real life examples. We then show an online demonstration of what happens to children in chat rooms as well as Social Networking sites, such as Myspace.com. At the conclusion of the presentation, the audience will have the opportunity for questions and answers.

Officer Steve DeWarns has 16 years of law enforcement experience. Ten of those years, he was assigned as the Juvenile Detective.
