Camp Tzofim
Programs
Sessions 1-4
RISHONIM (Starters) -
Entering Kindergarten
Camp Tzofim welcomes children who will be entering Kindergarten in September, 2004. This program is especially designed to meet the needs of children in transition from pre-school to Kindergarten. The youngest campers at Camp Tzofim are introduced to activities such as arts & crafts, sports, nature experiences, and Jewish thematic programming that are unique to the camping experience. Rishonim campers have swim lessons and supervised free swim several times each week. Each session includes a half day field trip as well as several excursions to local parks. Recognizing the special needs of this age group, Camp Tzofim provides Rishonim campers with constant adult companionship with very close supervision of one staff person to eight campers and the awareness that this is the first full day program for many Rishonim campers. Campers will have a daily nap/rest hour each afternoon.
Fees: $405
One Week Option: $235
SABRA (Natives) -

The activities of this age group are designed to focus on team work and community building. For good portions of the day, Sabra campers are broken up into “keetana” or “smaller” sub groups with campers of similar interests to better meet everyone’s specialized needs. Sabra campers have swim lessons three times per session at the downtown YMCA and supervised free swim at least once a week at Robert’s pool. Daily activities such as swimming, nature study, games and hiking are specially designed to give this group the opportunity to enjoy nature and explore their curiosity in an encouraging playful environment. Each session includes a field trip, several excursions to local parks and an Erev Kef (Extended Evening of Fun).

Some specialties from past summers include wilderness adventures, wearable art, soccer, candle-making, Jewish artifacts, theater, ceramics, and “new sports”. Campers register for specialties on the first day of each session. Giborim campers spend most of their camp days at our Roberts Park site and other East Bay Regional Parks. Their activities include swimming, sports, arts, drama, treasure hunts, nature walks, music, and various interactive Jewish theme programs.
