BodyPump is the original 60-minute strengthening class set to inspiring music, effective and adaptable for all ages and fitness levels. BodyPump gives a cardio boost and challenges all your major muscle groups by using the best weight-room exercises like squats, presses, lifts, & curls. Our new crop of awesome BodyPump instructors will motivate and inspire you to get the results you came for!  Please arrive a few minutes early to sign in at the front desk.  Your first class is free, so come try it out!  

Parkinson's Disease & the Art of Moving

Days & Locations: Mondays, Tuesdays, 10:30am-12:00pm, Berkeley Branch
Wednesdays, 10:30am-12:00pm, Berkeley Branch

Cost: $120/month

Practice balance, coordination, stretching, loosening joints, breathing, walking, turning, and recovering from a fall. Try vocal exercises and speech training, power breathing, and reading poetry and prose aloud with attention to pace, rhythm, and articulation.  Enrollment is limited. Moving Qi

Days & Times: Tuesdays, 11:45-1:45pm,
Wednesdays, 12:30-2:00pm

Cost & Location: $35/semester, Berkeley Branch

Learn to promote relaxation and increase circulation through acupressure and movement. Improve your balance, release tension, and develop your strength. Learn traditional Asian methods for balancing the energy related to back pain and other issues, promoting well-being and vitality at both the physical and emotional level.  For adults 55+. Co-sponsored by Berkeley Adult School, with instructor Kathleen Davis.  

Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement

Days & Times: Wednesdays, 11:30am-12:30pm - Beginner Class
Wednesdays, 10:30-11:30am - Intermediate Class

Cost & Location: $35/semester, Berkeley Branch

Through a series of movement exercises, each lesson provides an experience that leads to improved coordination, flexibility, and balance, creating greater physical comfort and relaxation. Three levels of Feldenkrais are offered; please note that the Advanced lessons can be quite strenuous and are intended for students with extensive experience in the Feldenkrais method. For adults 55+. Co-sponsored by Berkeley Adult School, with instructor Kay Ellyard.

Fitness 55+

Day & Time: Thursdays, 9:15-10:45am

Cost & Location: $35/semester, Berkeley Branch

Full body workout includes low-impact aerobics, stretching and flexibility exercises, balance work, and strength training. Emphasis is on enjoying yourself!  Instructor Naomi Puro has 35 years teaching experience.  For adults 55+.  Co-sponsored by Berkeley Adult School.
