Fitness Classes


This is the original 60-minute strengthening class set to inspiring music. It is highly effective and adaptable for all ages and fitness levels. Parkinson’s Disease & the Art of Moving

With Instructor Debbie Sternbach

Practice balance, coordination, stretching, loosening joints, breathing, walking, turning, and recovering from a fall. Experience vocal exercises, speech training, power breathing, and reading poetry and prose aloud with attention to pace, rhythm, and articulation.

Debbie Sternbach is a certified PWR! Moves instructor and the Dance Chair for the National Parkinson Foundation's Bay Area Moving Day / Walk for Parkinson's.

Enjoy this gentle, slow-moving class where students lie on mats (provided). Learning to increase body awareness leads to easier and more comfortable movement. Instructor Jan Hetherington is a certified teacher who has taught the Feldenkrais method since 2002.

Day: Wednesdays: January 4 - June 14 (No class 4/5, 5/31)

Times: Intermediate (10:30am - 11:30am), Beginning (11:30am - 12:30pm)

Fun, Fitness & Dance

Participate in this weekly full body workout featuring flexibility and stretching exercises, aerobic activity, strength training, and balance work. Instructor Naomi Puro is a credentialed teacher with a Master’s degree in Dance Movement Therapy.  

Day: Thursdays: January 5 - June 15 (no class 4/6). Classes will be held all summer.

Time: 9:00–11:00 am

Moving Qi

Practice traditional methods of acupressure and movement for balancing energy and promoting physical and emotional vitality. Instructor Kathleen Davis is a credentialed teacher who has taught acupressure and traditional Chinese  movement since 1996.

Days & Times: Tuesdays, 11:45 am–1:45 pm; Wednesdays, 12:30–2:00 pm. Classes run from 1/3 - 6/14 (No class 4/4, 4/5, 4/11, 5/31)
