Celebrate the Power of Community:
A Night of Delicious Food and Inspiring Conversation with author Courtney Martin

Courtney Martin's book The New Better Off illuminates the alternate ways Americans are seeking happiness and success in today's world. This Friday, join Martin for a special intimate (vegetarian!) dinner in which she will delve into the subject of her latest book, The New Better Off, and open the floor to one-on-one conversation. Stay afterwards for beats by DJ Sep of Dub Mission.

Martin is a columnist for On Being, and the cofounder of the Solutions Journalism Network, Valenti Martin Media, and FRESH Speakers, as well as a strategist for the TED Prize and an editor emeritus at Feministing.com. In her previous book Do It Anyway: The New Generation of Activists, she profiled eight young people doing social justice work, a fascinating look at the generation of world-changers who are now stepping up to the plate.

Courtney's latest book The New Better Off will be available for sale and signing. Check out her TED talk on the new American dream here.
