JCC Camp Tzofim
JCC Camp Tzofim offers an intimate, traditional camp experience where a kid can really be a kid all summer long. Through our good, old-fashioned camp activities, campers are able to discover new interests, test personal limits, and most importantly - HAVE FUN! In this exciting and safe environment, campers will celebrate Jewish traditions, make new friends, and develop meaningful relationships with their counselors. At Camp Tzofim campers will have life-changing experiences and create memories that will last a lifetime.
JCC Camp Tzofim begins at 9:00am and ends at 4:00pm, Monday-Friday. Extended-care is available from 8:00-9:00am and from 4:00-6:00pm for an additional fee at both Camp Tzofim and Berkeley branch locations.

Groups
RISHONIM (‘Starters’: entering kindergarten) Member $525 | General $665:
This program is designed to meet the needs of children in transition from preschool to Kindergarten. With very close supervision of one staff person to six campers, the youngest campers at Camp Tzofim are gently introduced to our traditional camp activities and camp ruach (spirit). Camp Tzofim provides Rishonim campers with age-appropriate activities and as well as time to recharge each day.
SABRA ALEPH/SABRA BET (‘Natives’: entering grades 1 & 2) Member $525 | General $665:
The Sabra campers spend their days busily engaged in camp activities that allow them to explore their curiosity in an encouraging and playful environment. Sabra campers will be divided by Aleph and Bet groups in order to enable groupings of friends from past summers. In the afternoons, Sabra campers will participate in weekly chugim (activities) where they can delve deeper into the specialties they love, as well as explore new interests.
GIBORIM (‘Heroes’: entering grades 3 & 4) Member $545 | General $685:
Giborim campers continue to build their skills and explore camp activities after a few summers of practice. Giborim spends their days getting messy and having fun with the traditional camp activities and going on a field trip once each week. The program also includes chance for Giborim campers to enjoy their first camping experience on a one-night overnight in Anthony Chabot Regional Park.
CHAVERIM (‘Friends’: entering grades 5 & 6) Member $595 | General $735
The Chaverim Trip & Travel program provides a balance of traditional camp experiences on-site and exciting off-site trips: a day trip to a local park and a two-night overnight to a State or National Park in Northern California. Chaverim campers will experience activities like hiking, team building, swimming, and BBQs in addition to a ‘Challenge Activity’ on each overnight trip.
HABONIM (‘Builders’: entering grades 7, 8 & 9) Member $795 | General $945:
The Habonim Trip & Travel program incorporates social service projects as well as hands-on experience in camp activities and on the overnights. Each session includes a week onsite at camp with local day-trips. During the second week of each session, Habonim will enjoy a three or four night overnight to a State or National Park in California.
GESHER (Counselor in Training: entering grades 10 & 11) Membership Fee Required $225 Family | $165 Single Parent:
Two Session minimum
Teens entering 10th and 11th grade are invited to join a close group of peers in an expanded leadership program designed for them to learn skills in camp counseling, work as a team, and build individual confidence and more! Participants will work closely with the younger groups gaining valuable experience by helping counselors and specialists run activities. The CIT Director will work closely with the Gesher participants to provide training, lead activities, and help our CITs experience what it will be like to be a counselor or a specialist. CITs will also have exciting group activities and a trip at the end of the summer to celebrate their accomplishments.
